5 Reasons to Skip the Alcohol and Smoke a Joint Instead this Thanksgiving
It’s almost Thanksgiving! And we’re asking the tough questions.
Which do you think is better: alcohol or cannabis?
It’s the age-old question that’s been on the minds of many ever since cannabis became legal in California.
We think that it shouldn’t be a competition.
You might be a little bit surprised because, as a cannabis dispensary, we should be a little bit biased toward cannabis.
We genuinely think that there’s certainly a time and place for either or.
But when it comes to Thanksgiving in particular, we have a pretty strong opinion that cannabis is the way to go.
And here’s a few reasons why.
1. You might enjoy the food even more.
It’s basically a fact of life: food just tastes better when you’re high.
If you’ve been hitting the bottle too much before dinner is served, chances are you won’t be able to taste the food as much. And if you’ve really had a lot to drink, you might even end up throwing it up later.
But if you smoke cannabis before dinner, not only will the food taste AMAZING, but you’ll be more mindful about how much you’re eating as to not overeat.
We think that the chances of feeling good, relaxed, and comfortably full after Thanksgiving dinner are way higher (no pun intended) after smoking cannabis than drinking alcohol.
2. You’ll probably give your judge-y family members less to gossip about.
If you’re drinking so much that you’re talking sh*t about your ex, bringing up politics, or saying things that you know grandma does NOT like, chances are, your more judgmental family members will be having a field day.
Don’t give them the satisfaction!
If you smoke cannabis instead, you’ll probably be cool, calm, and collected, instead of the risk of being loud, annoying, and embarrassing when you’re drunk.
3. You won’t be hungover for Black Friday.
If you want to get in on those Black Friday deals, you have to wake up early!
And if you had a little bit too much to drink the night before, the worst thing you could possibly do is to wake up early to stampede around crowded shopping centers.
But if all you did was smoke herb the night before, you’ll probably wake up refreshed and ready to shop!
4. Health-wise, we think that evidence favors the green stuff.
I mean think about it, there are 88,000 deaths per year caused by alcohol. And cannabis? Still zero.
There is so much information out there about the many health-related concerns that alcohol can bring.
When it comes to cannabis, there’s less research out there because the industry is still so new.
But so far, there haven’t been any devastating health concerns that have been documented about cannabis, unlike alcohol.
And because Thanksgiving is a time to reflect and be thankful, a lot of us can be thankful for our health and wellbeing.
If someone you love is drinking a lot, chances are, they aren’t healthy mentally or physically.
But if someone you love is smoking a lot, it could be for a variety of reasons, both medicinal and recreational.
5. Cannabis is so much more fun!
Okay, we may be a little biassed on this one, since we’re a cannabis dispensary. But hear us out!
When you smoke cannabis with people you love, it’s a whole new experience.
You can get to know each other in a new way and connect on genuine moments, regardless of your differences.
It can help you to feel more patient around difficult family members and can help you feel more relaxed throughout the night.
From what we’ve seen, alcohol can’t do that nearly as well.
Don’t get us wrong! We think that your right to choose whether you want to drink or smoke responsibly is awesome. If drinking is more your thing, we support it. If smoking is more your thing, we support it. But if you’re on Team Smoking, we can help you out.
